A Giftable Christmas

Hello!! As some of you know that have been following me, my husband and I just moved to Charlotte, NC.. and when I say just moved our moving truck showed up last Sunday. Needless to say trying to find all my crafting supplies to put together a card and finding a good surface to do it on has been interesting.

The theme for this hop was to re-create a card that you created in your early days as a demo. I had to really think about what my first cards looked like and then I found a picture… uhhh was it awful but that is ok we all have to start somewhere right??

Now for the hop. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy hoping around and getting inspired by these wonderful demos. And if you are in the NC area or really anywhere make sure to take advantage of all the perks that are out there to being a demonstrator and join us!

So this is the front of my card:

I am using the new Quilted Pattern Paper (available Sept 1) to create 2×2 “presents” for the front of the card. I like for things to be in 3 so I had to have 3 boxes. I played around with the design (since the original version did not look good at all) and finally came up with this. I love that this is a little bit more classic Christmas vs modern. I also added the mini gift bows to each of the boxes. I like the clean and simple look and decided to put the sentiment on the inside.

I used also another new stamp set Merry Little Labels (again available Sept 1) and Real Red ink. I started at the top and just continued to stamp down. The technique is stamping off but I also like the look it gives to the side of this card.

This card is perfect for a beginner because there is not a lot of materials that you need to get started and you can make a lot of these really quickly. And if you are like me you should really start whipping about 10 of these out so that you will be ready for the Holidays.. just saying they will be here quick.

  2. Christina – Welcome to our fine state! I’m not too far from you – Lake Norman area. But I grew up in Charlotte. Glad you could join our “hop” this month! Looking forward to meeting you.
